If you go to Weeping Woods or Coral Castle you should see a timer icon like shown in the picture above. Run into it and it will start a time trail challenge.

It will spawn in a series of checkpoints you will need to swim through before the time runs out. It's not too difficult assuming you don't have anyone shooting at you. Use the dolphin dive to swim faster.
