In this post we will be going over what is required to unlock the Gold Lara Croft skin.

There has been an update today that puts a new landmark on a small island to the south of the main island. It is located just south of Pizza Pete's Food Truck and Flushed Factory. The exact location can be seen on the map below.

The landmark is a small building that looks like some ancient ruins. Inside you will find a new NPC called Orelia. She will be standing next to a stone table with a legendary assault rifle on top. At first she will not be hostile until you pick up the legendary assault rifle. I guess she does not like it when someone steals her gun, to be honest I wouldn't either!

Now we know all this the steps to unlock the Gold Lara Croft skin are simple. You first need to have any Lara Croft skin equipped. I was using the Lara Croft Classic skin. I also equipped the Survivors Pack, Pry Axe, Salvaged Chute and the Spelunkers Special to make sure it unlocked correctly.

You then need to jump into a game and go to the island mentioned above and to the stone table with the legendary assault rifle on top. If you are the first person to pick up the assault rifle your character will turn gold signalling that you have unlocked the skin. If you pick up the assault rifle from an eliminated enemy or if they pick it up first and then drop it on the ground it will not unlock. You need to be the person who picks it off the stone table.

If you are planning on trying to unlock this soon you will likely have a lot of competition so it might take you a few games. I got this on my fourth try.
