If you prefer playing battle royale game modes you will likely get this naturally as the shotgun is a very desirable weapon that you should always have in your inventory. You can also wear your enemies shield and health down with a different weapon then switch to the shotgun when they are low to finish them off.

If you want to speed up your progression you can jump into a team rumble game. You will have time before the circle closes to get yourself armed with some good shotguns. When the circle is at its smallest the enemy team will be in a cluster so you will be able to drop in and get some eliminations before you are eliminated. If you do get eliminated you will drop back in with the same weapons so you can rinse and repeat until the game is over.
