Boats are one of the different types of vehicles players can drive on the island. Unsurprisingly they spawn at bodies of water. This includes around the edge of the map and by the waterways that run through the island. Below is a map of all the boat spawns on the island.

Boats have the ability to fire rockets that can be controlled by the driver of the boat. These are not that powerful though and a direct hit on an enemy is not going to kill them with a single rocket as each rocket only does 35 damage.

Boats do have the ability to drive on land but for every second you do the boat takes 1 damage but if you are boasting this increases to 2 damage.

Your best bet is to be a passenger on the boat and use a high rarity assault rifle to pick of a passing player while a member of your team drives.

In my experience boats aren't leveraged in battles but only used to travel faster so getting all tiers of this quest may take you some time unless you change your play style to include boats in your day to day play.
